It was just minimal in the beginning. I thought; this is because of over work and simply overlooked it. Gradually this intensified but still there was no time to look at it. I started taking some painkillers at my own .It was relieved and I thought that this is over. But no, it came back and with a lot of fan fare this time. I was compelled to see the physician seeking relief. He left me with more potent analgesics and advised for some exercises. This was the time when I was relieved of my responsibilities and so was having enough time to think for my own. I noticed a lot of potentially disabled people because of their damaged joints and this made me much low. With most of the people I heard that this never goes and instead increases as your age advances. This was my turn to run from pillar to post now to find a dependable remedy. I went to the physiotherapist for exercises, to Ayurvedic and Unani physicians as I heard this as much helpful in my condition and to Homeopathy physician only to discover an ever-intensifying pain. This was difficult to bend the knees now and I noticed a gradual bowing of my legs apart. I was completely shattered when I found that this is no more possible for me to straighten or to bend the knee from a sitting or a lying posture .As a help from family, I was offered for a wheel chair which was the epitome of the disability I could think for.

A simple leg elevation exercise in a supine position can be of great help. Mobilizing the joint without putting it in pressure (moving the leg while sitting over the stool) is also a good way to keep them mobile. Certain yoga exercise which utilizes the stretching of the lower limb (Hastapadasana, Naukasana, Sarvangasana) is also of immense help. Improved blood circulation is the key factor for the improved nutritional status to the area affected. This can be achieved with some fomentation techniques to the local area and this not only improves the circulation but also reduces pain and inflammation if present there.
A wholesome diet is not only helpful to provide good nutrition to the body and the joint affected but also to cut the extra calories from the usual menu and so keeping the diseases like Diabetes and heart diseases at bay which are often found as a co-presentation in osteoarthritis. Adding fresh fruits, salads and vegetables to your dining table can give a fresh breath to your degenerating and dying tissue.
